Young entrepreneur making a name for himself

The same entrepreneurial spirit that drove Jared Henderson to try making his own and selling homemade firecrackers and temporary tattoos as a teenager is serving him well as a junior business economics major at the University of Wyoming.

The son of Vern and Donata Henderson and a 2016 GHS grad, Jared has a passion for finding solutions to everyday problems and one of those make-life-easier solutions — a computer program he developed to increase business efficiency — has been recognized in two different entrepreneurial competitions.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol with the assistance of two Big Horn County school resources officers set up a DUI course on April 31 at the Burlington Schools. The course was the second part of a presentation about not driving impaired and wearing your seatbelt that organized by Vicky Rosser of Greybull. Rosser was hit by a drunk driver between Shell and Greybull.

The Burlington girls 4x100 relay team set a state qualifying mark of 56.57 seconds and Gideon George AQed in yet another event Saturday when he ran 11.24 in the 100-meter dash during competition at the Rocky Mountain Invitational. George’s time in the 100 puts him among the best in the state.

BHC Sheriff’s Office shares about sex offender registry

According to state statute, the sheriff’s office in each county is responsible for tracking sex offenders who are required to register. On a statewide basis, it goes through the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) that oversees the paperwork that is submitted by the sheriff’s offices.

On Thursday, April 1, an unusual and amazing wedding took place at the First Baptist Church in Basin. Barbara Ellison Greene, the 90-year-old mother of Barbara Anne Greene, Tom Greene and Dianna Saboe, became the bride of 92-year-old Ira Sumner.
