CNA Classes available to local high schools’ students through partnership

 Big Horn County School District No. 4 students will be able to take CNA classes for high school and college credits. The classes are a result of a partnership between the school district, the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) and Northwest College.

Bringing them all together was Senator RJ Kost, R-Powell.

Community overwhelmingly wants mural where Eagles Building once stood

At the Oct. 14 meeting of the Basin Town Council, Mayor CJ Duncan said the input from the community about the public area was in support of painting a mural on the concrete wall. He believes there may be some grants from the Wyoming Art Council to hire an artist to do a mural. He would also like to see picnic tables on the lot. 

Basin man arraigned on burglary/theft charges

A Basin man appeared in BHC Fifth Judicial District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 5, to be arraigned on burglary and theft charges.

Jacob Shaw is charged with a felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of theft.

Travis Smith, Shaw’s attorney, entered not guilty pleas to the charges.

August proved to be another good month with a gross revenue of $1.75 million, according to Three Rivers Health CEO Tadd Greenfield. “Our gross revenue was actually one of the highest we have ever had” commented the CEO during the regularly scheduled board meeting in September.

Public input sought for former Eagles building location

The Town of Basin is seeking input for what to do with the area where the Eagles Building was located. Councilman Carl Olson is leading the committee looking for ideas. One idea that has been confirmed is planting a large pine tree. The tree will be the town Christmas tree. In addition to seeking ideas, volunteers are needed to serve on the committee with Olson.

Fair board reviews public input ideas

At the Sept. 13 Big Horn County Fair Board meeting, the board discussed the input they had received at two public forums. Board member Austin Layne said there were a lot of people at the north end forum. Fair manager Masey Tippetts said there were five people at the south forum.
