Manderson seeking own water operator

During the Sept. 14 Manderson Town Council meeting, there was a discussion about the town getting its own water operator.  
Town resident Chris Saunders told the council that he's been discussing books and what needs to be done with Kim Parker, the   operator certification officer for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.

Rich in history, Basin City Arts Center needs your support

The current Basin City Arts Center (BCAC) board and volunteers have created a Monthly Donor Circle to help keep the center going.
The center has no paid staff, but events, rental, programs and fundraisers do not cover expenses.  
The yearly expense of the elevator is $3,600. The electric bill runs $4,200 for the year. The yearly expense for Wyoming Gas is $4,500. The insurance runs $1,000 a year.

Big Horn County communities fundraise to outfit law enforcement with body armor

Law Enforcement from throughout Big Horn County received rifle-rated body armor last week after a successful community fundraising effort.

The effort was headed by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department and Shield 616, a non-profit organization out of Colorado Springs.

 The Basin Town Council met on May 26. One of the items discussed was a planned outage for Tuesday, June 7. It will run from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. so that metering at the north substation can be switched out.
Work has started on the former Eagles annex at the corners of C and Fourth Street. Mayor CJ Duncan said some of the existing concrete foundation wall/footer needed to be removed and new footers, etc., put in. Councilman Carl Olson discussed the plans for the water line and suggested a possible change.

Mike Dellos and Mark Christopherson weren’t expecting to become heroes when they started their shifts at the Town of Basin on a Tuesday morning a few weeks ago, but that is exactly what happened.

Camilla Jones Hancock and Meredith Winters were recognized at the Wyoming Pharmacy Association’s annual convention this month. Both women started their careers at Basin Pharmacy.
Hancock was awarded the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award. She is a second-generation pharmacist following in her dad Craig Jones’ footsteps.

The Basin Community Pool opened June 21 and will close August 15. Mayor CJ Duncan said only having two lifeguards is impacting the operation of the pool this summer.
At the June 7 town council meeting Duncan told the council that a certified pool operator had been hired. Three individuals applied for lifeguard but only two passed the test.
