‘Military Firearms of the Wyoming Frontier’ presentation streaming on YouTube Nov. 8
The Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum announces its upcoming historical series lecture on Nov. 8, 2024.
Guest speaker Danny Michael will present “Military Firearms of the Wyoming Frontier,” a program on frontier firearms, on Friday, Nov. 8 as part of the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum’s historical lecture series.
Michael will present virtually on WVMM’s YouTube channel, with a watch party at the Veteran Museum. A link to the presentation will be available shortly on the VM’s Facebook events page. All lecture series events are free, offering insights into different aspects of military, veterans and Wyoming history.
Michael will draw on the collection of historic firearms from the Cody Firearms Museum to display the military firearms used in Wyoming Territory. From the more recognizable frontier guns to the oddities and out-of-place, attendees will discover how firearms’ technological advances influenced the American Frontier.
Part of the Veterans Museum’s is educating and engaging the community about the history of Wyoming’s veterans, the Casper Army Air Base, and Wyoming’s military heritage. Lecture series programs are an opportunity for older audiences to learn about our state’s military history in a fun and interactive way.
The Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum in Casper was created in 2000. It preserves and shares the memory and legacy of Wyoming’s veterans. The museum tells the stories of Wyomingites who have served in the United States military from the Spanish-American War to the present day. The museum also houses a collection of artifacts related to Wyoming’s military heritage.
