All I want for Christmas is new boots and gloves

Seventy-five to one hundred children went to see Santa and Mrs. Clause Saturday in Basin. The event was the town of Basin’s annual Home for the Holidays. One young lady told Santa that all she wanted was new boots and gloves. Santa told her that he is friends with God so he will see what he can do to make her wish come true. 

Santa didn’t get the girl’s name. He is hoping that her mom will read this story so he can make sure the youngster gets gloves and boots. Since Santa went back to the North Pole, he requests that the mom comes into the newspaper with her daughter’s name. 

Each child visiting the Clauses received a bag of goodies and a lollipop. Both Mr. and Mrs. Clause said their feet got very cold as the temperature Saturday night was around 16 degrees. This didn’t take away from the joy they got. 

Santa said there were some requests from the kids that touched his heart. Three girls said all they wanted was more time with mom and dad. Both parents are deployed. The girls are staying with their grandmother. 

Another young man, when asked, said, “I want you to have a merry Christmas, Santa.”
