American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Day Drive set for Nov. 7
American Legion Auxiliary Post 29’s annual Poppy Day Drive is Nov. 7. The members will set up tables in front of the Basin Post Office and Basin’s Market from 9 a.m. to noon.
National Poppy Day is observed on the Friday before Memorial Day to honor fallen military service members. The red poppy is a symbol of remembrance, stemming from the poem In Flanders Field. The poppies are distributed by veterans and supporters to raise funds for local veterans, active-duty personnel, and their families.
