Art fundraiser held for heart transplant patient
An art fundraiser that culminated in a drawing at Big Horn Federal brought in approximately $1,500 in contributions to help offset the medical and travel expenses incurred by the Ayden Skillman family.
Ayden, 18, received a total heart transplant at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado on July 27.
The funds were raised by selling lottery tickets for a piece of original acrylic artwork donated by local artist Benjaporn Helburn. Ayden named the painting “Swim to Victory.” The art piece has a pour acrylic ocean background with hand painted dolphins.
The lottery was won by M.S. Bennett, who generously donated the painting back to Ayden.
Big Horn Federal and the Bank of Greybull assisted in the fundraiser by selling tickets.
