The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #29 will provide a meal to Veterans on Nov. 11. In lieu of the Auxiliary’s traditional Veterans Day meal, the members have decided to provide a meal and  drink at the Copper Corner Café in Basin.  The Café is open 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Veterans should show an ID, then sign the ticket. Veterans will also receive a free piece of pie or a cinnamon roll from the Copper Corner Café that day.

Auxiliary members are also baking cookies and writing thank you notes for the Veterans at the Wyoming Retirement Center.  They will be delivered after the Veterans Day program at the school. That program starts at 9 a.m. Veterans and the public are invited to attend.

This week on Friday, Nov. 7, the Auxiliary is holding their annual Poppy Day drive. Look for the tables at the Post Office and Basin’s Market.

The last Auxiliary event for November is the Veterans Suicide Awareness Rally on Nov. 22, noon to 1 p.m. in Russell Park.
