Barlow visits south Big Horn County

Sen. Eric Barlow, R-Campbell County, made his second campaign visit to the Big Horn Basin over the weekend, this time focusing his efforts on its southern reaches. 

Barlow has announced his intent to run for governor and has already toured Wyoming’s 23 counties once through on the campaign trail. He has advertised himself as a non-Freedom Caucus Republican, garnering the support of former state Rep. Jamie Flitner, who helped organize his campaign’s visit to the Copper Corner Café in Basin, Greybull’s industrial park, Wyo-Ben, Leavitt Reservoir and Shell Bar on Saturday. 

 Barlow bought a few breakfasts at the Copper Corner and took questions from constituents, largely regarding property tax cuts and public lands. He also learned how State Loan and Investment Board money has been allocated to help projects in Big Horn County and visited the state-backed Leavitt Reservoir project. 

Barlow closed out 2025 with over $500,000 in grassroots fundraising support for his gubernatorial campaign. 

“This campaign is being built by Wyoming people who believe in Wyoming solutions,” Barlow said in a release. “This level of support is humbling, and it tells me that folks are ready for leadership that listens, respects local communities, and puts the long-term future of this state first.”
