“I hate it when people say, ‘You don’t owe anyone anything.’ Actually, no, I think as a bare minimum we owe each other basic human kindness and respect.” Hazel Satija.

A huge thank you to our Lilac Days sponsors thus far: Three Rivers Health, Secutiry State Bank, TCT, Big Horn REA, Basin REC, Basin First Baptist, Gottsche, Friends of the Basin Library, American Legion Post #29/Valley Hardware, The SHACK and Club Dauntless.

Adam Craw will provide the music this year. Wing It Food Truck and Haley’s Concession will be there too.

Time to vote for Lilac Queen. Ballots are at SSB, Basin Pharmacy, Basin’s Market and the Basin Republican Rustler. Please vote for a woman in the Basin Area that is 50 years old or older. She must be or have been active making a difference in the community. Please vote only once. You must put your name on the ballot.

The Tom Newman State Farm/Basin City Arts Center Entertainment in the Park has one date available, July 24. Technically, July 3 is open, but we weren’t sure how well-attended it would be given the holiday. Watch for a schedule in the Basin Republican Rustler. The first concert is June 19.

Chamber member meeting this Thursday, May 8 at noon. Lunch will be provided. PLEASE RSVP so we can plan accordingly. After lunch I head to Casper for a food bank advisory board meeting. Would appreciate suggestions, thoughts, etc., from you on how to improve the food distribution process.

The chamber pots (flower) are ready to go for chamber members on the main streets in Basin. Members of the beautification/revitalization committee will be stopping by your business to ask if you would like to have one. Thank you, Valley Hardware, for getting us the additional pots.
