Big Horn Trombone Quintet to play Basin City Arts Center Friday

The Basin City Arts Center proudly presents the Big Horn Trombone Quintet in concert this Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.  

Since 1995, the Big Horn Trombones have played together in one configuration or another. This current quintet has been playing together for two years: Rick Parmer lives in Lovell; Chris Saville and Austin Chandler, in Powell; Jack Nauman, in Basin; and John Henderson, in Greybull. Each of them plays in various other performing groups, including the Northwest Civic Orchestra, Alte Kameraden Band and NWC Jazz Band.

This concert will provide a variety of musical pieces: fanfares, ballads, classical, hymn chorales, renaissance, swing and jazz, representing composers from all eras: Lennon, Mancini, Poulenc, Beethoven, Hayden, Handel and more. A special premier performance of Alex Nauman’s arrangement of John Lennon’s “Because” will be played. Alex, a graduate of Basin’s Riverside High School, now works as
a professional guitarist out of Billings.

The Big Horn Trombone Quintet Concert is free and open to the public, however donations are welcomed and appreciated. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Enjoy this unique musical experience, Friday, Sept. 13, at the BCAC.
