Bob N. Johnson

Bob N. Johnson was born on Dec. 6, 1931, in Mitchell, Neb., and peacefully passed at home into our Lord’s arms on Feb. 17, 2014. His parents were Gerald and Sarah Johnson of Mitchell.He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1950. Bob joined the U.S. Air Force in December of 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954 with honors. He began work for Great Western Sugar in 1958, transferring to the Lovell factory in 1966, and retiring in 1994 after 36 years of service.Bob and Sharon have been residents of Lovell and Cowley for 48 years. Bob and Sharon have three children, Sheri, Jeff, and Rob, and six grandchildren. Bob and Sharon were married for 53 years.Bob loved his family, country, his horses, and his T-birds. He enjoyed raising Arabs and quarter horses. Rodeos were one of his favorite pasttimes. In his early years, he was an outstanding athlete, high school football player, avid water skier and scuba diver.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Gerald Johnson, his sister, Jerri Curtis, and nieces Robin and Renee. He is survived by his wife Sharon P. Johnson, daughter Sheri (Bradley) Nealy, sons Jeffery (Amy Hein) Johnson and Robert (Sarah) Johnson, grandchildren Shawn, Shae and Sutton Nealy and Lacey, Summer and Noah Johnson, and nieces and nephew Connie, Shannon, Noah and Shaylee.A memorial service will be held at the Bible Church in Lovell, on Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m.Memorial flowers are appreciated, or at Bob’s request, donations can be made to the Rocky Mountain Booster Club.
