Booth, Hibbert unopposed for Burlington council seats
Jenny Booth and Don Hibbert are running unopposed in their bids for new four-year terms on the Burlington Town Council. The newspaper contacted both candidates seeking information about their campaigns, but only Booth responded.
Background
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I moved to Wyoming in 1981 to take a job as a wrangler at the historic Valley Ranch on the Upper Southfork of the Shoshone outside of Cody, working there year round for three years. Many trails and adventures followed through Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado, mainly engaged in horse related employment: trail rides, pack trips and driving teams for horse drawn sleigh rides. Since 2011, I have been self-employed full time as a carving artist, predominantly working on antlers and bovine skulls. I moved to Burlington late January of 2013, where I continue to carve out of my home.
Why are you running for office?
I have served on town council for the last six years, which has been been my pleasure to do for this peaceful community. If elected, I will continue to do so to the best of my ability, hopefully seeing Burlington continue to flourish and grow. I really enjoy my fellow council members and feel like everyone brings their own strengths to the table and the town, yet, collectively I feel like it’s a very solid team. Our mayor, Jerry George has led our team with much foresight and diplomacy and our public works team and clerks definitely have a great finger on the towns pulse. The town looks great.
