Bruce Dannar and Sharon Dannar
Bruce Dannar May 26, 1942 - April 15, 2025
Sharon Dannar Jan. 5, 1945 - Feb. 25, 2021
Our Dad was a brilliant engineer who worked on the space shuttle, built rockets and designed and built the first heart transplant pump, but the things he would want to be remembered for the most, are the love of his family and his love of Heavenly Father and his love of country.
Our Mom was involved in every aspect of all the kids education; she could type over a 100 words a minute, could take shorthand almost as fast, could spell pretty much any word and read over 1,000 words a minute, but the things she would want to be remembered for is her love for her family, her love of Heavenly Father and her love of country.
We did not get to celebrate Mom’s life at her passing, partly because of Covid and partly because Dad could not deal with her being gone.
Dad and Mom had a love that most don’t ever get to experience. They were married on Sept. 6, 1963, and they had nine children. They had to deal with a lot of heartbreak. Bruce Bucklee and Rachel Lauree preceded Mom in death and Joshua Chester preceded Dad In death. They are survived by six children and their spouses: Tammy and Shawn Kuykendall, Mark and Jodi Dannar, Seth and Andy Dannar, Robert Dannar, Heather and Chris Pittman and Zeb and Amanda Dannar. They have 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and the numbers are still growing.
There is a dedication in the book “Cheaper by the Dozen” that says “to Dad who raised 12 children and to Mom who raised 12 individuals.” How do you sum up the lives of two wonderful people. They loved with all they had, to the best of their knowledge and abilities. They gave more service both through the church and through service to the communities they lived in. They raised soldiers and missionaries in the field and in their homes. They lived their faith.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery in Basin, Wyo.
