Burlington’s speech team takes second in 1A/2A
Staying close to home, Burlington’s speech and debate team co-hosted and competed in the Greybull and Burlington Forensic Challenge this past weekend. They continued to see success as they wrapped up the last regular tournament of their season. “The team did well,” said Coach Scott McBride. “We continue to refine our pieces and learn more each tournament we attend.”
The team took second in the 1A/2A sweepstakes. Raygen Andrew took first in Informative, Kitzen Schatz took third in
Congress and fifth in Impromptu, Jessica Mendez-Perez took fourth in Oratory, Aubbri Wagner
took fifth in Informative and Orabella Heaton took seventh in Poetry.
Burlington’s team will head to Riverton this week for the Wind River District Tournament, which will be a National Qualifier meet. “We are in the final stretch. We will be attending National Qualifiers and then state. We will make final touches to our speeches and debates the next couple of weeks. We have a hard-working team that the coaches are very proud of,” said McBride.
