Burlington gains valuable experience in Riverton
Burlington’s speech and debate team faced tough competition in Riverton over the weekend.
“This was a huge tournament,” said Coach Scott McBride. “We learned a lot that we will use at the National Qualifiers and State.”
Aubbri Wagner broke to the semis in Informative and Kitzen Schatz broke to Supers and placed third overall in Congressional Debate. The team took third in the 1A/2A Sweepstakes.
As Burlington looks to the next few weeks, they will be participating in a virtual tournament Feb. 14-15 put on by Kelly Walsh and will co-host a speech and debate tournament with Greybull on Feb. 21-22. They are looking for judges. Please contact the school to let Coach McBride or Coach Leah St. Clair know if you would be interested in helping. No experience is necessary.
