Burlington Town Council: Booth, Allen and Hibbert vie for council

A pair of four-year terms on the Burlington Town Council are up for election this year.
Three names appear on the primary election ballot: Jenny Booth, Cortney Todd Allen and Don Hibbert.  All three — and potentially a fourth if a write-in qualifies and accepts — are likely to advance to the November general election.
Of the three declared candidates, only Booth responded to our interview requests.
Jenny Booth
Background:  Born and raised in Pennsylvania,  I moved to Wyoming in 1981 to take a job as a wrangler at the historic Valley Ranch on the Upper Southfork of the Shoshone outside of Cody, working there year round for three years. Many trails and adventures followed through Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado, mainly engaged in horse related employment: trail rides, pack trips and driving teams for horse drawn sleigh rides. Since 2011, I have been self-employed full time as a carving artist, predominantly working on antlers and bovine skulls. I moved to Burlington late January of 2013, where I continue to carve out of my home.
Why are you running for office? I have served on town council for the last six years, which has been been my pleasure to do for this peaceful community. If elected,  I will continue to do so to the best of my ability, hopefully seeing Burlington continue to flourish and grow.  I really enjoy my fellow council members and feel like everyone brings their own strengths to the table and the town, yet, collectively I feel like it’s a very solid team. Our mayor, Jerry George has led our team with much foresight and diplomacy and our public works team and clerks definitely have a great finger on the towns pulse. The town looks great!
What are the most important issues facing the town in the next 2-4 years?  What can the council do to address them? We have tackled and instated the successful hook up to the Bighorn Regional water system last year and have current plans in the works for replacing one of our water tanks, as well as expanding our sewer lagoon with help from grants written by our talented grant writer. Housing is an ongoing issue here, especially rentals. There have been some plans presented. Hopefully the cost of materials will fall, enabling these plans to happen in the near future.
If elected, what qualities or expertise would you bring to the council?   My strengths lie more towards the aesthetics, as having a creative nature that comes fairly comfortable for me, but hopefully I add thoughts and ideas that come from being a relative newcomer to this community.
