Circle-J United Methodist Camp & Retreat’s annual Applefest starts at 10 a.m. in Ten Sleep this Saturday.

Organizer Jackie Denison said there will be 35 vendors and four food trucks. Children’s games were added for this year’s event. There is truly something to do for the entire family including face painting. She suggests attendees bring lawn chairs and stay the entire day.

Event goers will also enjoy worship and praise music from local musicians from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The event is an annual fundraiser for Circle J. Apples and pears will be for sale. They will also serve homemade apple crisp with ice cream. The donations from this as well as the money raised from a silent auction will be used for new siding on the chapel. The chapel was completed in 1904.

“Johnny Appleseed” will be at the Applefest. Like the original “Johnny,” he will be sowing seeds of the gospel. Those who come to his booth and listen to his testimony will be entered in a drawing. The drawing is for 50 pounds of ground hamburger donated by Paintrock Processing.

Denison said Circle J’s history dates back more than 100 years. You may read about it at https://circlejretreatcamp.com/history. It may be rented for family reunions, meetings, religious retreats and youth camp. For more information regarding the Applefest and/or Circle J contact Denison at
