Clair Allen Wiles

Jan. 16, 1963 - July 31, 2024
Clair Allen Wiles passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his immediate family on July 31, 2024, from cancer.  Clair was 61 years old.  Clair was born on Jan. 16, 1963, to Betty Joan Allen and Richard Clair Wiles in Anchorage, Alaska.  He graduated from Burlington High School in Wyoming.  He fell in love with his high school sweetheart and later married Ruth Leann Wiles (Wetzler) on July 9, 1982.  He later had two children, Leann and Keith.
Clair worked very hard for his family with most of his years as a car mechanic.  He was known to family and friends as a handy man who could “fix anything” and did it with a smile.  Clair, like his sister Debbie, would always support the youngsters who were trying to raise money.  He stopped at every lemonade stand, bought thousands of crafts and supported various fundraisers especially if they were selling chocolate.
Clair loved to go on various adventures with his family.  He would always take the back road over the main road and loved being outdoors.  Clair was also known as a prankster and a jokester.  He could always make you smile and would have all the kids around him as he just had a way with kids.
Clair is known by many names including husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother and uncle.  He worked hard to fulfill the roles of each of those names.  He did well.
Clair was loved and will be missed. He will join his previously deceased brother Danny, sister Debbie, mom Betty, dad Richard and mother-in-law Nan.  He is survived by his wife and two children, Leann Erskine and Keith Wiles and their families.  He is also survived by his sister Carrie Preator, his brother Lynn Wiles, and his brother Mark Wiles and their families.
Please join us in celebrating Clair’s life and luncheon on Aug. 17 at 11:30 a.m. in Burlington, Wyo., at the Burlington Fire Hall and Sept. 14 at Big Lake in Oregon, time to be determined.
