Constance (Connie) Jane Luallen
July 18, 1962-March 24, 2025
Connie grew up in the foothills farming area of Central California. She was very proud of her years spent showing sheep and beef cattle, both as an FFA and 4-H member. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, she spent the next 29 years working for Pacific Gas & Electric as an electrical engineer. Connie derived great satisfaction from her time spent owning and operating Sweet Springs Shorthorns at her home ranch in Northern California.
Connie had a full and active life. We will fondly remember many years of family horse-packing trips in the Sierras, Jimmy Buffett concerts, and rafting the Grand Canyon.
She was predeceased by her father, Jerry Gayle Luallen.
Connie is survived by her mother, Donna Gill Luallen; her brother, Chris Luallen; her sister, Carrie Luallen Shropshire, and her brother-in-law, Bradley Shropshire.
Numerous family vacations to the Rocky Mountain states introduced Connie to rural Wyoming, which reminded her of the cattle country where she was raised. Upon her retirement, she chose to move to Greybull, Wyo. She expressed admiration not only for not only the beauty of the area, but also for the kind, welcoming people.
Connie’s family would like to thank the many caring people who extended compassion and grace to her while she lived in Greybull. Special thanks go to the South Big Horn Senior Center and the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.
We would also like to thank the many thoughtful people of Big Horn County who have helped the family in the past few weeks. A special thanks goes to Jessica Throssell at Lovell Animal Control for her successful efforts to find a good home for Connie’s beloved dog, Livy.
“Rest now, wherever you are.
“We’ll remember you as a whisper of what was,
And what could never be.”
