Di Ann Dee Quinn
March 12, 1938 – March 22, 2023
Di Ann Dee Quinn, 85, passed away on March 22, 2023, at Cody Regional Health in Cody, Wyo.
On March 12, 1938, in Salem, S.D., Di Ann was born, one of four children born to William and Dorothy (Forester) Hershley. She grew up and received her schooling in the Rapid City area. She fell madly in love with Leslie Jay Quinn and on Aug. 13, 1956, the couple eloped. Di Ann knew in her heart that this was a marriage meant to be and was willing to make the sacrifice of her own family to succeed with Les. The young couple moved often to different places in South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. Two of their children, Deborah and Ricky, were born in Rapid City, but Robert was born while they lived in Montana. When Ricky was just a baby, the family moved to Wyoming, where she would remain for the rest of her days.
Di Ann was a hard worker and one of the most humble women you could ever meet. While in Buffalo, Wyo., she worked as a CNA at the Amie Holt Care Center. She was the secretary for the Ten Sleep Rodeo for a number of years while the family lived there. In Manderson, she was the cook for the Manderson Bar/Café. It was said that she was one of the best cooks in Wyoming!
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Hershley, Jr., daughter Deborah “Debbie” Larkin and son Ricky.
Survivors include her husband of over 67 years, Les of Manderson; son, Robert (Nancy) Quinn of Worland; sisters Fay Petersen of Florida and Kay Duda of Rapid City, S.D.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned at this time.
