Diana’s Place changes ownership
After 33 years in Basin, Diana’s Place has changed hands.
In 1991, Diana Elliot bought the building and brought her beauty salon to the Basin community. “It has been very good for me and I’ve really enjoyed my time,” she said. “I’m so grateful for my clientele over the years who have stuck with me to the end... for all my customers and friends.”
Even though Elliot knew it was time for her to retire, it was important to her that the business stay in the community. “I always wanted to sell it as a beauty shop and Basin needs businesses,” she said. “I’m extremely excited for this to open back up, it will be good for Basin.”
The new owner, Ashley McIntosh, is no stranger to running a business.
“I grew up with parents who owned several businesses and growing up around that, I wanted to start my own,” she said. “It’s nice to be your own boss and awesome to provide jobs for other people. I’ve always enjoyed doing different things and staying busy.”
She currently owns and operates Desert Rose Salon and Spa in Powell. “We are moving to Burlington and saw that Diana’s Place was up for sale and was already a salon and I immediately had some big ideas. It will be a second location for me, same name and same style as my Powell location and possibly expanding at some point to include more boutique items.
“I plan on keeping the historical integrity of the property, but doing some updating. I want to provide a place for people to relax and to enjoy. I’m excited for the community and hopefully we can bring some vibrancy and young life and energy into Basin.”
McIntosh is planning on a fall opening. She will be looking to add more stylists. If any are interested, they may contact her at 307-202-2290.
