Elks crown local Hoop Shoot champions

Thirty-one boys and girls ages 8 to 13 competed in the local phase of this year’s Elks Hoop Shoot.  Put on by the Greybull Elks Lodge, the competition took place Saturday afternoon in the GMS Gym.

The winners of the six age groups, and qualifiers for the district Hoop Shoot Jan. 25 in Powell, include Vanessa Winters (8-9 girls), Harmony Hopkin (10-11 girls), Brooklyn Winters (12-13 girls), Kase Hagen (8-9 boys), Kobe Winters (10-11 boys) and Brendyn DeShazer (12-13 boys).

Here are the placers in each division:

8- AND 9-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — 1, Vanessa Winters, 12-25.  2, Ainsley Mulley, 10-25.  3, Makenzie Kottman, 3-25. 

8- AND 9-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Kase Hagen, 14-25.   2, Jace Davison, 13-25.  3, Conner DeShazer, 11-25.

10- AND 11-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — 1, Harmony Hopkin, 0-25.

10- AND 11-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Kobe Winters, 18-25.  2, Lane Collingwood, 8-25 (3-5).  3, Jayden Waddell,  8-25 (2-5).

12- AND 13-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — 1, Brooklyn Winters, 9-25.

12- AND 13-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Brendyn DeShazer, 15-25.   2, Kruson Keisel, 14-25.  3, Landon Gorski, 13-25.
