Elks crown local Hoop Shoot champions

Twenty-three boys and girls between 8 and 13 competed in the local round of this year’s Elks Hoop Shoot.  Sponsored by the Greybull Elks Lodge, the competition was held Saturday morning at Buff Gym.

Age group winners and qualifiers for the district Hoop Shoot Jan. 24 in Powell included Willett Brown (8-9 boys), Ellie Thiel (10-11 girls), Jace Davison (10-11 boys), Kaylynne Kottman (12-13 girls) and Dietrich Otto (12-13 boys). 

There were no entries in the 8-9 girls division.

Here are the placers, with their scores, and the other participants.

8- AND 9-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — No  shooters.

8- AND 9-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Willett Brown, 13-25.  2, Henry VanderPloeg, 9-25.  3, Sawyer Hetzel, 6-25.

10- AND 11-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — 1, Ellie Thiel, 13-25.  2, Makenzie Kottman, 12-25.   3, Lily Brown, 1-25.

10- AND 11-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Jace Davison, 17-25.  2, Lane Collingwood, 13-25.  3, Thomas Black, 9-25.  Did Not Place: Henry Emmett, Zane Wilkinson, Kingston Schedler, Elijah Suiter, Connor DeShazer.

12- AND 13-YEAR-OLD GIRLS — 1, Kaylynne Kottman, 6-25.  2, Grace VanderPloeg, 5-25.  3, Olivia Suiter, 1-25.

12- AND 13-YEAR-OLD BOYS — 1, Dietrich Otto, 13-25.  2, Jace Pouska, 10-25.  3, Korbin Stewart, 9-25.  DNP: Jayden Waddell, Kaleb Christopherson, Daniel Stamstad.
