End of Summer Blues
Have you ever felt like summer just got started and then it was over?
I remember as a kid our summer started with Memorial Day and ended with Labor Day. The short stint in between seemed sufficient as without the technologies of today you may not see some classmates until they appeared again for the new school year an inch or so taller than the year before.
Despite extra warm days there is now just a hint of fall in the air that confirms summer is drawing to an end. Unlike a kid waiting for school to start, I am a little sad to say goodbye to the summer. I am just not ready for it to end.
Don’t get me wrong I love what fall has to offer: pumpkin spice, Friday night football, hot cocoa and cozy sweaters. It is probably my favorite season of the year. I am just not ready for it.
Ready or not, the reality is that if you are living in Wyoming you can practically experience all four seasons in just one day. I have seen it snow in the middle of July, for goodness sake!
So if you are like me and have a touch of the end-of-summer blues, put on your big girl (or boy) pants and bust out your yard rake because just as fast as summer went fall is sure to follow.
Happy fall, y’all!
We won’t even talk about Christmas shopping (yet!).
