End-of-summer reading challenge underway
Summer is waning and school is right around the corner. We are starting our end-of-summer reading challenge. Fill out a reading log and we will give you a golden coin to add to our dragons-hoard. The more coins you receive, the better your chance of winning the prize.
We will be hosting Lee Workman Saturday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m.. She is going to educate us on the beauty of rocks. She is bringing in many samples for everyone to learn about. If you have a favorite rock you would like to share, bring it by. We will be open Saturday from 10-2.
We will be having a book sale starting Aug. 12. We will be adding new materials throughout the week so keep checking.
Our New bookshelf is full. There is a wide array of titles. If you enjoy mystery/thrillers, I recommend “The Butterfly Garden” by Dot Hutchison. If that is not your preferred genre, I suggest “Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books” by Kristen Miller. It is a delightfully fun read. Maybe nonfiction is more suited for you. I would highly suggest “The Declassification Engine” by Matthew Connelly. It’s a good reminder of the past’s importance for our future. We hope to see you soon.
