Forms for June 20 townwide yard sale available at chamber and newspaper
“Make a bed for the children of other people in the place where your own children sleep.” - Moroccan folk saying.
The townwide yard sale is June 20, starting at 8 a.m. Forms to sign up are at the Republican Rustler and the Basin Chamber. It is $5 to put your address on the map. The forms and money must be turned in by June 18.
At the ribbon cutting for the Basin mural Friday night, the above saying came to mind. The mural and the Basin Heritage Commons is doing just that. It will be a place for today’s youth and tomorrow’s youth. A place to gather, a place to celebrate our history, a place to embrace who we are as a community.
Our sponsors included the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, South Big Horn County Water District, Big Horn REA, TCT, Gottsche Performance and Longevity, Town of Basin, Linda and Charlie Weeks, Dondee and CJ Duncan, Ellison/Greene family and Diana Burch. Behind the scenes were John Joyce and Danae Bales. The artists of course: Deanna Skillman and Rebecca Kinane. Can’t forget to mention the Big Horn County maintenance crew who stored and then hauled the lawn chairs to the Friday night event. There are others but this old and tired mind can’t think of them right now.
The weather was nice for the Saturday Lilac Day events. Thank you vendors, First Baptist for a free breakfast, The Shack and Club Dauntless for entertaining the kids. Our Lilac Day sponsors were TCT, Security State Bank, Three Rivers Health, Queen Bee Gardens and Big Horn REA. The Big Horn Basin Adolescent Program kids and staff helped set up and take down the chairs, hang the banners and haul those heavy as heck picnic tables.
Thank you Basin Food Pantry for your chamber membership renewal. Welcome aboard new member Manna from Basin.
