Local wrestlers with the Greybull Basin Athletic Club attended their last regular season competition of the season this weekend at the Powell Wrestling Club’s Three-style Tournament.

“What a way to wrap up the regular season,” said club secretary Kate Hetzel. “GBAC showed up and battled all day, finishing second as a team. So proud of the effort, growth, and toughness these kids continue to show.”

Three GBAC athletes were champions in all three styles of wrestling on Saturday. Basin athletes Blake Carlton, Kaislee Nyberg and Kaysen Nyberg received individual trophies for placing first in the folkstyle, freestyle and Greco competitions.

Hetzel also wanted to offer a shoutout, “to all of our wrestlers who stepped on the mat this weekend—placers or not, the effort is what matters, and this team keeps getting better every single week.”
