Helen Harvey Chimits

Aug. 10, 1932 – Aug. 10, 2015A memorial service for former Greybull resident Helen Harvey Chimits was held Aug. 15 at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego. Helen, 83, died Aug. 10 in La Mesa.She was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Casper, the daughter of Dwight and Ethel Harvey. She was raised and received her education in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 1950. Following her graduation she moved to Billings, where she worked/attended college.She married Albert “Bert” Chimits on June 26, 1964. They made their home in Lemon Grove, Calif. In 2013, Helen moved to La Mesa to be nearer to family.A woman of deep faith, Helen was a member of the Church of Christ in Lemon Grove, and continued her involvement in the Church of Christ in La Mesa.She was a kind and caring woman who loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.Her husband preceded her in death in 2005.Helen is survived by six children, Charlene, Daniel, Dee Dee, Robert, William and Gene; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Memorials in Helen’s name can be made to Meals on Wheels, Rides for Neighbors or the Wounded Warrior Project.
