Huskies at 6-1 on the season 4-0 in conference play
Burlington hosted Hulett on Friday for their Homecoming game and Senior Night and defeated the Red Devils 46-0. “Hulett has struggled this year; they are young and didn’t have much experience returning. I thought we came out and did what we needed to do,” said Coach Trent Aagard.
Offensively, the Huskies had 278 yards and scored 6 touchdowns. “I think that all our seniors who were able to play were able to find the endzone, which was nice to see on Senior Night. It was also good for us to get so many pass defense reps. We haven’t had a lot of the team throwing the ball at rate this season, so it was good to see how we could react in that situation.”
Defensively, Burlington had just under 30 tackles, four tackles for loss, one pass break up, one forced fumble and five interceptions. “I thought the guys did good, a few times we let some of their guys run loose but we were also able to have five inceptions, which was pretty impressive. Overall, I was pleased with the way the older guys performed,” said Aagard.
The Huskies will not have a game this week, but will travel to Dubois on the 24th with a kickoff time of 2 p.m.
