The Burlington Huskies took on Ten Sleep at home last week in their first official conference matchup of the season.

“It was good to see Ten Sleep with decent numbers and they are a program that has been able to improve over the years,” said Coach Trent Aagard. “I thought they showed a lot of heart and kept battling throughout the game.”

In the first half, the Huskies dominated, putting 34 points on the board with touchdowns from Chute Cauffman, Cole Gotfredson, Asher Loveland and Kole Walker. “Parker (Cook)  and Kole ran the ball well. Kole had a good game throwing as well. It was fun to see Paul (McNiven) do some good things on both sides of the ball. Cole G. had some nice catches. Matt (Tempany) had a big defensive day. Taft (Winters) played well. Chute and James (McNiven) had a couple of nice catches. Asher and Chase (Bassett) both had some nice plays. It was fun to see so many boys involved.”

Ten Sleep scored 14 points in the second half but touchdowns from Bassett and another from Gotfredson kept the Huskies in the lead and ahead at the buzzer with a final score of 48-12.

“We weren’t as sharp in the second half. Most of that was probably on me and some of the decisions I made. I think there is some good learning material there for us to help us improve going into next week,” said Aagard.

The Huskies will host Hulett on Friday with a Middle School kickoff at 11:30 a.m.  and Varsity kickoff at 1:30 p.m.
