There are solid numbers once again out on the gridiron for the Huskies with 18 athletes.

“We are excited to be back at it again,” said Coach Trent Aagard. “We had several boys coming back that contributed on varsity last year. Kole Walker is our only returning all-conference performer, but Matt Tempany, Taft Winters and Chute Cauffman all have some valuable experience.

“With so much turnover from last year, I’m excited to see who steps up and earns playing time this season.”

The season goals for the Huskies are concentrated on the team as a whole. “We want to first and foremost be a great team,” said Aagard. “Meaning we play hard for and care about the players we have and individually we put the needs of the team above our own. Football is the ultimate team game, so we want to make the team the center of our focus. We want to give our best effort in practice and games whenever we have a chance. We want to see every player improve at their position.”

Even after losing eight of their all-conference players last year to graduation, don’t overlook the Huskies.

“I know that we lost a lot of production from last year’s team and we have more unproven positions than we have had in a while, but don’t count these guys out. We are excited for the guys who are returning and about our new additions. As they work hard to put everything together, I’m excited to see how it turns out,” said Aagard.

Joining Aagard in the coaching crew is Wade Aagard and Nate Kreider.

The Huskies will be in Shoshoni on Saturday for a Jamboree.
