The Huskies are back in force on the football field with 28 athletes. “It is the largest group I’ve had since coaching here, “ said Coach Trent Aagard. “We are split pretty evenly through all classes, so that has been exciting. We also are bringing back a lot of experienced players. Last year we only lost 2 players so it’s nice to have some guys who have some experience and know how we like to do things.”

At least 10 of those returning players have had contributing varsity roles, including Kole Walker, Matt Tempany, and Taft Winters were all state and all conference last season. Trigdon Aagard and Parker Cook were all conference. The Huskies placed second last year at State.

“So far the guys have been working hard and really competing against each other. It’s fun to coach a group who wants to work hard and get better. A lot of boys put in some good work in the weight room. I need to give a shout out to Gage Downing who put a lot of work in with them over the summer.

I’m excited to see what these boys can accomplish this year, they are a good group of kids. It’s an exciting time to be a Burlington Husky.”

The Huskies will face Farson-Eden on Saturday, with the Middle School game at noon and the varsity kickoff at 2:00 p.m.
