The Burlington High School trapshooting team is back in business and looking forward to the season.

With 13 athletes on the roster, they welcome back Trigdon Aagard, Chase Allen, Wyatt Garland and Ava Wennberg and their returning top shooters: Brikton Wardell, Chute Cauffman, Kole Walker and Parker Cook and are joined by new members Cooper Aagard, Porter Aagard, Raiden Andrew, Isaac Davidson and Jaxon Buck.

“The rest of the team has improved individually over the past week’s practices,” said Coach Nate Kreider. “I look forward to them putting up personal best scores and getting more competitive over the next few weeks of competition.”

Kreider attributes the success of the club to the support of individuals and businesses in the community. “Our team fundraiser this year was a huge success. We have great business sponsors that help the cub out tremendously. Those businesses are: Krossed K Farm, Agri-Tire, Auto-Medx, ACE Hardware, Greybull Building Center, Road Runner Sanitation, Pete’s Plumbing, TCT, Road 10/Tool Man Rentals and Aagard builders.

“Rocky Mountain Discount Sports helped with the purchase of four trap shotguns for the athletes to use this season. Big Horn Basin Gun Club and its members have gone above and beyond to make sure our team as well as other youth shooting sports have the opportunity to compete with new trap systems, which they worked diligently to install before the trap season started. It’s a privilege to be part of a community that supports our youth and our trap team greatly appreciates all of the support.”

With two weeks of practice behind them, the team is looking for steady improvement. “As a team, we are looking forward to achieving our personal goals, as well as our team goals for the season. Each member wants to improve in marksmanship and become a  better sportsman over the course of the season,” said Kreider.

The first week of competition is next week.
