The middle school football season ended last week for the Huskies and they finished with a solid win over Rocky Mountain, 30-8. The Huskies went 5-1 on the season, with their only loss to Snake River.

“We were led by eighth graders Chase Bassett, Asher Loveland and Carlos Padilla. Solid line play was delivered by Kysen Bullinger, Pierce Peterson and Michael Broederlow,” said head coach Lanning May. “We were lucky to have scoring talent in Chase, Asher and Pierce and seventh grader Chase Allen. This gave us the edge we needed in the majority of the games we played.

“Our defensive coordinator, Tim Allen, did a good job in scouting other teams and always had a plan on how to stop our opponents. We also had a third coach in Mike Aagard, who really helped in coaching up our players.

“Our eighth graders are now ready for high school play next year, which is a big goal of our coaching staff. As head coach, I will miss those athletes tremendously. We do have a good bunch of seventh graders coming up. Chase Allen, Riggin Harris, Reegan Wood, Armando Padilla, Will Preator, Colin Haslam, Eli Olsen, Tanner Dunlap and Dilam Gomez will have to step up and hopefully continue with a winning season next year. So, I am excited for them. I also wanted to mention our sixth grader kids who had a great attitude in trying to learn the skills we taught them this year. Our sixth graders were Quade Houchin, Cooper Aagard, Porter Aagard, Raiden Andrew, Kirk Parsley, Julian Rodriguez and Bret Winters. They did a really good job this year. I would also like to give a special thanks to our team manager, Benton Bullinger. He helped us out tremendously.”
