Husky Trap team wraps up season

The trap shooting season has come to a close and the Huskies finished with their best week of shooting in Week 5. 

Overall, the team shot 215 points to add to their final team score of 851.50. 

“I’m really impressed with how all our athletes improved and competed this season,” said Coach Nate Kreider. “I couldn’t be more proud of all of them. It was a great season!” 

The top shooters for Week 5: First, Brikton Wardell and Kole Walker, 45/50; Second, Parker Cook, 43/50; Third, Trigdon Aagard and Chase Allen, 40/50; Fourth, Isaac Davidson, 39/50. 

At the end of the season, Wardell ranked 19th in the state and sixth in the conference. Walker ranked ninth in the conference. Aagard ranked 21st in the conference, Cook ranked 22nd in the conference and Allen ranked 25th in the conference. Ava Wennberg ranked 25th in the state and eighth in the conference on the female side. 

“Ava broke into the top 25 in the state for the first time this season. Chase broke into the top 25 in our conference for the first time this season, Isaac posted his personal best score in Week 5. We did year-end team awards and Brikton won our Top Shot award, Isaac won Most Improved Shooter for high school, Raiden Andrew won Most Improved for middle school and Brikton will be competing at the Wyoming State Shoot at the end of June.

“Thanks again to all our team sponsors, support from family and friends and a big thank you to Big Horn Basin Gun Club for hosting our team and making sure we had a place to compete. Without everyone’s support, this wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to all our volunteer coaches, Mike Aagard and Tim and Robin Allen, as well, for donating their time to our club,” said Kreider.
