Trap season has come to an end and the Burlington Huskies finished out with their best week of shooting of the season. They put an overall score of 215.50 which left them solidly in 4th place in Conference 2. Burlington ended with a point total of 891.00, compared to Goshen County in first place with 1245.50, Kemmerer in 2nd with 1189, Wheatland in 3rd with 1092. Powell ended in 5th with 739 and Dubois in 6th with 723. “This last week of shooting went well. The top 4 posted some really good scores for the week,” said Coach Nate Kreider.
The top 4 scorers were Kole Walker with 46/50, Chase Allen with 45/50, Parker Cook 41/50 and Spence Winterholler 41/50. “The competition between teammates for the top shot was very close. At the end of week 4 Kole and Chase were tied with their season average, so whoever posted the best score in week 5 won. Kole edged him out by 1 target. Parker Cook and Casey Nelson were not too far behind with their season average scores as well. Our new teammates this year did extremely well, those are Spence Winterholler, Casey Nelson, Riggin and Tagg Harris. Ava Wennberg really hit her stride this season and competed and placed well on the female side of the conference. We also had numerous personal best scores this season for a number of athletes.”
Burlington’s top 5 shooters’ scores also placed them in the Top 25 in Conference 2, Walker tied in 7th place. Allen placed 9th, Cook tied in 13th, Nelson in 17th and Winterholler tied in 21st. Wennberg moved up to 8th place on the female side of the Conference and into the 25th place in the top 25 by gender.
“This season for the Burlington Trap team has been our best thus far. We have had numerous athletes constantly posting low to mid 40’s scores. We also had numerous personal best scores this season for a number of athletes. It’s been a great season all around,” said Kreider.
