Jennie Laura Kennette

Jennie Laura Kennette died at the age of 89 in Lovell, Wyo., on Jan. 30, 2024. She was born on Jan. 16, 1935, in Hanston, Kansas to Jack D. Fakes and Bertha M. Law.  She was married to Tommy Abbott, L. Cleland Koontz, Robert Hammil, and Russell Kennette and had eight children.
She earned her degree as a registered nurse from Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas in 1971. She continued her education for the rest of her life and worked full-time as a registered nurse until the age of 86.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, twins Michael and Laurie, and daughter Gay Kalat.
Survivors are daughters Kim Conning and Mark, Lynn Taylor and Joe, and Jan Cooley and Tony, and sons Jay L Koontz and Lee C. Koontz; and sisters Linda Owens and Maxine Cole.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and burial will be in the Basin, Wyo., cemetery.
