Just for the fun of it… Odd questions we’ve been asked

Several times in the past, I’ve written about some of the questions that people call and ask. It is always fun to wonder why people believe that us at the paper have the answers. But it is actually kind of fun. Here are some of the questions that were asked in the past year. We do try to get the correct answer but some of them are beyond our knowledge. Here are the questions and our answers. 

• What is the phone number for the post office? (This question is the one asked the most frequently as in 3-4 times a year by different people). Answer: Let me ask Pam or I can look in the phone book… 307-568-2228.

• Where can I take dry cleaning? Answer: Not sure. Have you tried searching online? 

• Who is selling Christmas trees in Greybull? Answer: No one that I know of. 

• I got an email from ____. Do you know this person?  Answer: No. Sorry. 

• Do you have a cell number for Gretty at the Extension Office? Answer:  Yes. 

• Where can I find a Wyoming flag? Answer:  You could probably do an online search for one. 

• Could you give me directions to the Outreach Clinic? Answer: Could you be more specific? (We did figure out which one & gave the directions). 

• Is there a shuttle service from Basin to the Billings Airport? Answer: Not that we know of. 

• Is the laundry mat in Basin open? Answer: It was last time I drove by it. 

• Where are all the Toys for Tots drop offs?  Answer: Oh gosh, bet you could go to their website or look for signs in businesses windows. 

• Who is the tall lanky guy with a Mustang that lived by the old hospital? Answer: Not a clue. 

• Who should I call about a dead bat? Answer: Humm…Batman?

• Where can I donate 2X t-shirts? Answer: Perhaps you could post on some community pages on FB. 

• Is the wild asparagus up yet? Answer:  Not a clue. 

• Could you tell me the moral character of ____? Answer:  Nope. 

• Does ______ bleach her hair? Answer:  You should ask her directly. 

• Are ____ and ____ dating? Answer:  I’ve never asked. 

• Do you know anyone going to Casper today? 

• What was the name of the TV show about a sheriff in Wyoming? Answer: Longmire? The Virginian? Steve Donovan-Western Marshal? (None of those were the one they were looking for). 

• My grandma lived here in the 1940’s. Did you know her? Answer: I’m old but not that old.
