Lady Huskies fall to Greybull, play in Southeast Jamboree

The Lady Huskies faced Greybull at home on Tuesday and competed in the Southeast Volleyball Jamboree over the weekend. 

It was a hard-fought battle against Greybull with Burlington losing three games to one. Scores were 18-25, 24-26, 25-22 and 16-25. 

Hulett was up first for the Lady Huskies on Friday. Burlington struggled to close the tight games and lost both, 25-27 and 24-26. Next up was Southeast, currently ranked No. 2 in 1A. The Lady Huskies kept it close again but fell two games to one, 24-26, 25-15 and 12-15. Kaycee was last up for the day and Burlington won both games, 25-18 and 25-19. 

The two earlier losses put the Lady Huskies in the Blue Bracket, where they quickly dispatched Encampment, 25-10, 25-19, Guernsey-Sunrise in three games, 22-25, 25-14 and 15-13 and Hannah Elk Mountain in two games 25-21 and 25-14. 

The Lady Huskies are currently ranked fifth in the 1A poll and have a 10-5 record. They will play their first conference matches this week with Riverside Tuesday and Meeteetse Thursday — JV at 5, varsity at 6 p.m.

They will then will head to Thermopolis for tournament action Friday and Saturday.
