Lady Huskies notch win against Riverside
Traveling to Basin on Friday, the Lady Huskies took on the Lady Rebels in a quick series of three and a win for the Lady Huskies. “One more game down on the road to regionals,” said Coach Erin Bassett. “It was a good night to put another W in our conference play column. We needed to put this game away quickly and confidently and I felt like our girls did just that. Historically, we get off to a little of a slow start, but after the first three points, we settled in and went to work.”
The Lady Huskies won all three games with final scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-14. “Our strength was in our consistency and teamwork. It is easy to get excited by big swings and blocks, but without our defenders in the back row, those things aren’t enough to be successful. We are working hard in our gym to make sure we can maximize each rotation on our court and give the needed attention and credit due to our defenders, our serves and our passers,” said Bassett.
Burlington will wrap up the regular season this week by playing Rocky Mountain on Tuesday and then facing St. Stephens at home on Friday at 5 p.m. and will celebrate Senior Night on Saturday, hosting Dubois with the JV game at noon and the varsity game at 1 p.m.
