Lady Rebels beat HEM, but lose to two ranked teams at Wrangler Invitational over the weekend

The Riverside Lady Rebels encountered two more ranked opponents at last weekend’s Wrangler Invite in Shoshoni, bring their two-week total to four.  And while they’ve dropped all four of those matchups, a challenging December slate typically bears fruit later in the season.
The Rebels fell to Cokeville, the No. 1 ranked team in 1A, by a 52-31 count and fell to Little Snake River, No. 5 in that same poll, by a score of 41-29. But on the plus side, they knocked off Hanna-Elk Mountain, 31-36, finishing the weekend at 2-4 overall.
Brooklyn Paxton led the Lady Rebels in scoring and rebounding in all three contests.
Riverside struggled throughout on the offensive end, connecting on 23% of their shots against HEM, 28% against Little Snake River and 29% against Cokeville.
“Now that we have some games under our belt, our focus can shift from general preparation to specific focus on shooting and limiting turnovers, two things we’ve struggled with so far this season,” according to Mitchell.
