Lady Rebels open season at Bobcat Invitational
As they prepare to embark on the 2024-25 season, the Riverside Lady Rebels will build around their three returning senior starters in Brooklynn Paxton, Varissa Olsen and Johnna Clifford and a junior who saw varsity minutes last year in Belle Starbuck. The roster also includes seven incoming freshmen.
Two players hail from Ten Sleep, which didn’t have enough players to form a team.
“Our focus this year will be building from the ground up: teaching fundamentals, helping our freshmen adjust to the speed and physicality of high school basketball, and continuing the development of our experienced returners,” said Mark Hamilton, the team’s new head coach.
“We’ll also be installing a completely new system that will be brand new to everyone on the roster—we’ll fine-tune it as the season progresses,” Hamilton said. “The goal remains simple: get better every single day, build our Lady Rebel culture, and position ourselves to make a strong push when February (and postseason play) arrives.
The Lady Rebels will play Friday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. against Hulett, and at 4 p.m. against Custer. They continue play Saturday, Dec. 13 against Arveda-Clearmont at noon and Upton at 3 p.m.
