Lady Rebels win four straight in Kaycee
The Riverside Lady Rebels settled in well with a 4-0 day at the Kaycee Invite Friday, Oct. 10. All 4 teams they were up against they beat in two sets, giving them a boost as they go into the final few weeks of the season.
The Rebels defeated Upton 25-22, 25-14; Lusk, 25-14, 25-9; Arvada-Clearmont, 25-10, 25-11 and Rock River, 25-12, 25-10.
“The Kaycee tournament gave us the opportunity to play teams from the other side of the state that we haven’t seen prior. It is usually a two-day tournament but a decision was made to go with a one-day format. We were hoping for two days of play but embraced the opportunity to play different teams,” Coach Cindi Smith said.
“We are improving as a team in many aspects. Our focus on passing is paying off as we continue to grow in serve receive and defense. We will continue to work on staying aggressive and being intentional on the attack.
“This is a big week for us as we will be playing three important conference matches. It’s imperative for us to continue to grow and show confidence on the court.”
The Rebels have their senior night and will face Burlington Friday, Oct. 17. JV starts at 4 p.m., varsity at 5 p.m.
