Larry Daniel Zeitner

Larry Daniel Zeitner, 86, of Burlington, Wyo., passed away at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody on June 23, 2025. He was the son of Arthur and Helen Lucille Allshouse Zeitner and was born in Minatare, Neb., on Jan. 26, 1939.
Larry spent his early years growing up in Nebraska and his family then moved to Worland, Wyo. He graduated from high school in Worland and continued his education at Northwest College, Casper College and the University of Wyoming where he received a master’s degree in guidance and counseling.
Larry was a regional social worker for the State of Wyoming and lived in Casper, Sheridan, Lander and Burlington. He married Gayla R. Jones on June 4, 1960, in Burlington. They were blessed with one son and three daughters and 65 years of married life. Before he retired, he became an individualized wheelchair counselor at the State Training School.
In his free time, Larry loved fishing, camping, bowling, dancing, genealogy, and working on HO Model Trains. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Larry and Gayla served a CES two-year mission to the country of Wales from 2005-2007 teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to youth and young adults.
Gayla, his wife survives him, along with his children: Deon (Nancy) of Otto, Wyo., DeLynn (Tom) of Lindon, Utah, Penny of Preston, Idaho, and Kristen (Gary) of Williams, Ariz. Seventeen grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur and Lucille Zeitner, and his brother Allen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Burlington, beginning at 3 pm.
