Trying to make sense of municipal court listings
Dear Editor:
In my last rant, I questioned the tickets issued (as noted in the Basin Municipal Court publication) for cracked or broken taillights and windshields. It would appear that now we must add “defective mufflers” and “felony parking” to that list.
I call it “felony parking” because the fine was in excess of $1,000.00 that was listed as “prohibitive parking.” I would like some clarification on these heinous crimes as the fees seem to vary. Does it make a difference how many cracks there are in the windshield or taillight lens? Or what the defect in the muffler is?
Inquiring minds want to know!
