License plate toll tax scam targets cell phone users

 Big Horn County residents are receiving text messages on their cell phones asking for toll payments. 

The text reads “Toll Notice: Payment Required. An unpaid toll fee of $3.99 is linked to your license plate. Pay before March 11, 2025 to avoid further action. Resolve Payment” It also provides a link. 

There are no toll roads in Wyoming and the text is a scam, according to county treasurer’s office.
