The Wyoming Small Development Center and Wyoming Business Council are holding a meet and greet Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lovell Community Center. The Town of Lovell is providing the meeting space.

This is the second meeting sponsored by SBDC bringing business, chambers and economic development groups/agencies together to discuss opportunities. The first was held in Greybull in April.

Devan Costa-Cargill, regional director for SBDC, said, “Big Horn County is bursting at the seams with outdoor recreation assets. Yet we are strapped for capacity to embark on new initiatives to even apply for available funding programs. Concise, high-impact workshops provide our local economic development champions the opportunity to connect and conceptualize the industry needs.”

She continued “Activities are specifically curated to give leaders immediate power. We met in April in Greybull; 17 community champions participated. Since then, so much has happened. That speaks to the impact of well-designed collaboration.”

The meet and greet on Oct. 7 will focus on retail businesses.

Kristin Fong from the WBC added, “SBDC and Wyoming Business Council are feet on the ground in our communities. Connecting businesses and leaders to resources is the best way to build local capacity. And we do not stop there. We can sit with you, attend meetings, and support application development. Call on us - we are here to serve you: dcostaca@uwyo.edu and kristin.fong@wyo.gov.”

Please RSVP for the meet and greet to Costa-Cargill at 307-254-7755.
