Membership luncheon today at noon

 “Books, minds and umbrellas only work if they are open,” in the words of James Dewar. 

The Basin Chamber of Commerce membership meeting is this Thursday at noon. The chef has not revealed the entrée, but has hinted about a chocolate cobbler for dessert. Please RSVP 307-568-2458 or email us at basinchamber@gmail.com for a head count.. 

The Lilac Days Friday night concert is in flux. The Man in Tan is unavailable due to surgery. Our budget is limited but if you have some suggestions, please send them our way. 

Lilac Days is June 6 and 7!  Confirmed thus far are  Haley’s Concessions, Gottsche Run/Walk, Car Show, First Baptist Church free breakfast, and children’s sidewalk art hosted by the library. 

We still need some entertainment for Entertainment in the Park. Open dates are July 3, July 17, July 24. Please call 307-568-2458 or email us at basinchamber@gmail.com. 

 This weekend we bought 20 bags of potting soil and Rocky Mountain wildflower seeds for the chamber (flower) pots. We will be repotting the old ones & filling up new ones (Thanks Valley Hardware!) on Wednesday, April 23 with the help of Security State Bank staffers. Once they are planted, they are available to put in front of your business in Basin. Chamber member renewals:  Camp Bethel (sponsored by Carolyn Burinsky).

The theme is Wild Wild West Show. Please have your student wear a white shirt if possible; a red bandana will be provided.

• Basin City Arts Center:  Thursday, April 24 Music Jam in BCAC Ballroom 6:30 p.m. $10 to cover utilities. Welcome play/listen. Saturday, April 26 Dan Miller’s Cowboy Music Revue 7 p.m. Basin City Arts Center. Country, Americana, Bluegrass, & Gospel. Friends of Medicine Lodge:  The site will be a location for the Wyoming Art Council’s Tunes on the Trail. Deadline to Apply: May 2, 2025. They are seeking four Wyoming-based musicians to perform unplugged concerts in scenic outdoor locations during the summer of 2025. Each selected artist will perform a 90-minute acoustic set at one of four designated Wyoming State Parks or Historic Sites between June and September and receive a $550 performance fee. Concerts will be paired with a guided outdoor recreation activity. Big Horn County Library: Saturday, April 12 they will be open and making Easter baskets and doing easter crafts from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 - open and will be hosting a plant exchange with lots of houseplants! Friday, April 18 - Lego Club 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 25 - Book Club 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Town of Basin:   The Town of Basin’s Clean Up Day is Saturday, April 26. It’s time to toss all of the stuff you’ve accumulated over the past year. If you need a large item removed or special assistance, call Town Hall to get on the schedule. The items must be outside ready for pick up. One load per household can be brought to the dump by 11am on 4/26 or pick up a voucher at Town Hall usable at the dump from April 19 to May 3. No liquid paint, oil or batteries.
