Michael Yenny Concert kicks off Arts Center’s Festival of Trees
The Basin City Arts Center Festival of Trees kicks off this Sunday, Nov. 23. First up is a Dr. Michael Yenny Concert. Dr. Yenny will be playing many Christmas favorites. Donations are gladly accepted.
Following the concert at 3 p.m. is the grand opening of the festival. Trees of all sizes, shapes and designs will be on display and available for purchase at the end of the event. One exception will be the Veterans Tree. The tree has ornaments with names of veterans with local ties. The Arts Center will keep the tree and add ornaments each year. There is a donation jar by the tree. The donations will go towards future troop packages.
Previous years’ trees included a Grinch, Wyoming State Parks, Riverside Rebels, Western and Origami. This year’s lineup is sure to be fabulous as well. There will also be silent auction items to bid on.
The center will be open again Nov. 24 and 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for tree viewing and silent auction bidding. The last day to view the trees is Nov. 29, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The voting for favorite ends at 5:30 p.m. Bidding closes at 7 p.m.
